Dear Friends of the Newport Opera House:
As you try to elect a new President and pause to consider the price of gas, you can also take time to think about the future of the Newport Opera House Association and the many cultural and entertainment programs that we present to our community. While the past season has been very successful, we cannot rest on our laurels and assume that the same magic will happen automatically. Over the past few weeks, we have worked hard to create a new season packed full of exciting events that are sure to please everyone in greater Newport area.
Like everything else around us, our production costs are growing rapidly. We do all we can to keep the cost of admission down so everyone can afford to enjoy the offerings at the Newport Opera House. In reality, the price of an individual ticket covers only about half of the complete cost for any of our events. The remaining funds must be made up in sponsorships, memberships and grants. We need your help. In order to continue to book in a wide variety of entertainment to the Opera House, we need the financial support of our friends and neighbors. We need you to give us your vote of confidence by becoming a member of our organization.
Together, we can produce another fun-filled season tailor made to the needs and tastes of the greater Lake Sunapee region. Every event may not be right for everyone but everyone will find some event that is perfect for them. While we do not offer a Season Ticket package, we do send advance mailings to all of our members giving you the opportunity to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public.
The enclosed membership pledge form explains the different levels of giving. The Newport Opera House Association is an IRS recognized 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation and contributions are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. All members will be listed on the Membership Display Board located in the main lobby of the Opera House and will be published in the program for major productions. Please take a moment to consider how you can become a member and through your financial support, promote the arts and culture in our community.
The Newport Opera House sits on the highest spot in town and it is up to us to keep it alive and active. Without your help, the laughter, applause and lights could all fade away. Thank you for your continued support of the N.O.H.A. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Charles H. Massey
Executive Director, N.O.H.A.
